Within the body of Christ there are different organs. Each organ, each system, each section has a role to play in the body. A healthy local church will be an active church, a growing church with a vision for revival and growth. A healthy church will be a functional church.

In the beginning, there was nothing. Everything was confusion, and chaos. To our human eye, nothing looked like it could become anything of value-- it was dark abymal chasm. But God doesn't see how we see. Often we come to God with a wasteland of a life filled with despair and void of hope. God doesn’t see our worthlessness and brokenness, though, He sees a life fulfilled. God speaks into our darkness and the True Light begins to shine.

STAYING CONNECTED TO THE BODY

God didn’t put us together haphazardly or accidentally. He didn’t start throwing spare parts together. God fearfully and wonderfully made you. God knows our substance and how He put us together. Without the body there is nothing to be connected to physically. Too many times we mistreat the body. We don’t discern the body as we ought. His body is the church. How do you treat His body?

Joy is an inner consciousness that everything is going to be alright. It is a Christian possession and vital to your walk with God. You have the choice to complain and murmur or to serve God with joy. It's always your choice to be destroyed or to be saved. Why would you choose anything but joy?

Do you have a life-long situation that won't change, improve, or go away? None of your prayers change it? All of your hoping is impotent in the face of it? It's a situation so inconvenient and painful, you think to yourself, "God didn't do this...." But what if it’s a part of God's plan, too? Sometimes we have a dream that doesn’t turn out as we had hoped. Is that a part of God's plan, too? What do you do when you look in the rear-view mirror and say, "I didn't sign up for this."

BEING READY

You need to make sure your heart is ready. Time doesn’t mean to God what it does to us. Time doesn’t matter to God. In His time everything will be fulfilled. It's easy to forget what God did for you in the beginning. It could have been different. You could have been left alone and cold on the outside. You need to be thankful for another day to get ready. The same God who came through a year ago can come through today. Do you need to repent? Be ready. Do you need to make sure your heart is ready?

A NEW SET OF RULES

It's important to have an understanding of how God works and how His will is performed in your life. You can’t just turn this on and off like a light switch. The train might not come by again. When things are in your favor, seek the Lord. When things don’t seem to be going your way, seek the Lord. No matter your situation, seek the Lord. Living for God is more that having a good old time. There are a new set of rules.
